Introduction to the Design of Experiments in Boston

Creascience is offering its popular 3-day workshop for the second time this year in Boston. The workshop consists of two parts. The first one reviews the Fundamental Tools in Statistics and the second one deals with the Introduction the Design of Experiments.

Fundamental Tools in Statistics
Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
Learn the importance EDA to get a feel for your data, to detect trends, outliers and errors. This workshop describes numerical and graphical tools to easily perform EDA on your data.
Statistical Testing
Learn the strategy involved in statistical testing and the risks involved in such a procedure. This workshop explains hypothesis testing , alpha and beta risks, p-values and confidence intervals in laymens terms with the help of several applications.

Introduction the Design of Experiments
Experimental Design Construction
During the workshop participants will learn how to construct efficient experiments to compare two or more groups, conditions, interventions. Emphasis will be put on the effects and ways of controlling different sources of variability.
Principle Underlying Sample Size Calculations
This workshop will present the elements needed in order to determine the optimal number of observations to have in each group. Numerical applications and case studies will be presented, analyzed and discussed.
Statistical Analysis of Designed Experiments
Participants will also learn how to analyze data collected in such experiments. Starting from two groups using the t test (Student) to multi-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare more than two groups or several factors. Moreover, the principle underlying multiple means comparison techniques used to locate differences detected by ANOVA will also be covered.

Extra Edition of the Multivariate Data Analysis School in Montreal

Targeted toward non-statisticians utilizing statistical methods - researchers, business analysts, graduate students and statisticians - interested in an applied workshop, this 5-day course, offered in English, focuses on the practical aspects of the most widely used multivariate methods: Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Factor Analysis, Correspondence Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Discriminant Analysis and Canonical Analysis. Since it was first introduced two years ago, this workshop has been bery popular with participants from all over the world.

The format of our school is unique in many regards:
  • Emphasis on objectives, assumptions and interpretation of results
  • Special attention to the interpretation of computer output
  • Participants may use their own data for exercises
  • Featured software: SAS, SPSS, Statistica, Minitab, S-Plus, JMP and XLStat*
  • Experienced instructors
  • Basic ideas and concepts of statistics and statistical thinking are introduced, explained, and connected with contemporary applications of statistical methods

*If you use another software and you are interested in attending the school, please contact us.
